BIG BANG TOPS BILLBOARD’S “WORLD DIGITAL MUSIC” CHART ONCE AGAIN & TIES FOR MOST #1 HITS

BIG BANG has done it again!
The final installment of their “MADE Series,” “MADE Series E” does not disappoint although it had big shoes to fill with its predecessors (MADE Series M, A, and D) all making it into the top three slots of Billboard’s World Digital Songs chart.
In just their first week (August 22) on the chart, BIG BANG’s “Let’s Not Fall in Love” and subunit GD & T.O.P‘s “Zutter” have taken over the first and second spots on the World Digital Songs chart.
Meanwhile, BIG BANG has continued to prove that they are kind of a big deal over the course of their “MADE” series installments, achieving milestones in YouTube views and music chart performance. They are slated to release full-length album “MADE” in September.

BIG BANG TIE PSY FOR MOST NO. 1S ON WORLD DIGITAL SONGS CHART

PSY may currently be the most famous K-pop star in America, but BIG BANG are giving him a run for his money on Billboard’s World Digital Songs chart. Upon the release of their latest double A-side single “Let’s Not Fall in Love” and “Zutter,” the BIG BANG boys once again occupy the top two slots on World Digital Songs.
This means BIG BANG has three No. 1s on the ranking, the same amount as PSY. With a trio of chart-toppers on World Digital Songs, BIG BANG ties PSY for the most leaders in the chart’s five-year history. They are the only acts with multiple chart-toppers on this list, which started in January of 2010. Both are signed to YG Entertainment, the South Korean record label that also houses 2NE1, Epik High, Winner and more. To date the only K-pop acts to hit No. 1 on the chart are under YG.
“Let’s Not Fall in Love” tops the tally with 7,000 in sales while “Zutter” (a collaboration between BIG BANG members G-Dragon and T.O.P., credited to GD & T.O.P.) is in the runner-up slot with 6,000 copies sold. Remarkably, they shifted such numbers with less than two days of sales after Billboard’s tracking week shifted from Friday to Thursday with the global release date change.
“Let’s Not Fall in Love” follows BIG BANG’s earlier singles from this year: “Loser” (which hit No. 1 on the chart dated May 16, 2015) and “Bang Bang Bang” (it ruled on June 20). All three were released on two-song EPs that the act has been releasing at the top of each month since May. To date, every song on the project has charted within the Top 3 of World Digital Songs.
The four EPs preview BIG BANG’s upcoming full-length album Made, that drops at the top of September. It’s BIG BANG’s first LP since 2012’s Alive, which hit No. 150 on the Billboard 200 and was one of the first K-pop albums to bow on the ranking. Made is anticipated to make a huge splash on the charts upon its release.
